This week we have shipped a big update to Gems. All of those improvements were the result from your feedback – thank you so much. We can't wait to hear what you think!
Google Drive integration is fixed
We have finally been approved by Google, which means you can connect your Google Drive to Gems without issues.
Chat functionality and history
We have shipped one of our most awaited features yet: a chat. Imagine having a natural conversation with your knowledge. We're taking a giant leap forward in going beyond search, making your experience with Gems more efficient and engaging. You'll also be able to access your chat history.
Autoupdate improvements
We understand the importance of staying up-to-date with the latest features and improvements. To enhance your experience, we've made significant upgrades to our autoupdate system. This update includes things like:
Push notification as soon as a new version is available
Visual progress indicator of the update itself
Improve the reliability
How to update
Since only the new version will have the improved autoupdate, we can recommend to update manually this time.
Uninstall Gems
Reinstall at app.gems.so
However, if you do like to try the autoupdate, you can do so by:
Right click the Gems icon
on Mac: menu bar on the top right of your screen
on Windows: task bar on the bottom right of your screen
A modal will pop up. Click on “Download”. Please note that this might take time.
After the new version has been downloaded, another modal will pop up. Click on “Restart”.

We've heard your feedback, and we're immensely grateful for your insights that have helped shape this update. In the upcoming release, which comes very soon, you can expect:
More integrations:
Gmail and Outlook integrations: This has been the most requested feature so far. As such, we are working on a way to connect your email account to Gems.
OneDrive integration and OneNote support: You'll be able to ask questions based on your documents in OneDrive and that also includes OneNote.
Multiple account integrations: You'll be able to connect multiple accounts (e.g. Google Drive accounts, Notion accounts) to Gems.
Enhanced search capabilities and speed: We're further investing in improving the core of our platform - the search functionality, to provide you with more accurate and relevant results.
